The workers had removed the concrete plates and started digging so they could put the pipes back.
Table: Foundation Public Prosecution: And it came to pass, when the three men had gone down into the pit, that a portion of the earth had slipped round the hole that was made of digging, and had covered the two brethren entirely. The two boys had lost their lives at the scene as a result of the injuries, and the third person had been severely injured and partially caught the soil.
The prosecution pledged to continue with investigations into the causes and consequences of this tragic event. They say they will seek details on the permission of digging, investor, the firm that develops works and other technical details. At the time the prosecutor was conducting the investigation, officials of the labour Inspectorate were also called.
The person who survived the tragedy in Cair is generally in good health. He was quickly taken to the city hospital and received appropriate intervention. As Marina Sotirovska, the manager of the Fast Aid, suggests, the person in question has no serious injuries.
“One of the injured in consciousness, his head was above while the other two were covered by soil. Our team sent him to the City Hospital, in good general health condition, there was pain in the body... I believe his condition is now well, because at first there were no more serious injuries complaining”, Sotirovska said.
Since the first intervention was conducted by the fire team, Nuredin Mustafa, commander of the Fire Brigades near the city of Skopje, explained that it was a serious intervention, as on one side there were family members and other citizens in panic and at the same time there was a life that had to be saved.
These interventions require a lot of patience, so you can't take something that will harm the person who's in danger. So it takes patience. You even noticed that citizens make a panic. But we have experience and we did it, I say in cooperation with some citizens, we did it”, Mustafa said.
He further said that fortunately the team had been passing through the vicinity of Cair and after announcing this case, they were immediately headed to the scene.
