Erdogan ashamed in Istanbul

In the March elections, Erdogan's AKP candidate Binali Yildirim had lost by a margin of only 14,000 votes.

But this time, in spite of the huge fuss it was made to repeat the Istanbul elections, Erdogan's AKP was ashamed. The difference for now is 777 thousand votes, until more than 90% of the votes are counted.

Yildirim's opponent, Ekrem Imamoglu, had won the March 31st election and had called the repeat elections as orchestrated. He had, however, predicted a convincing victory.

Yidlrim earlier officially congratulated his opponent Imamoglu on Istanbul.
