The physical and mental health benefits you spend in parks, forests, or beaches are well - known, but a new scientific study is the greatest study on how long it takes to produce these effects.
The findings are based on interviews with over 20,000 people in England regarding the activities they had made last week. Those who had spent very little or no time in the wild reported very bad health, and almost half said that they were not satisfied with their lives - a standard standard measure of well - being. In contrast, only 1/7 of those who spent at least 2 hours in nature said that their health was weak, while only a third were unhappy with their lives.
What we were fascinated by was that this result came out from every group we measured,” said Matt White, from the Exeter Medical School, which led the study. Health benefits and well-being were the same for young people both old and poor and rural people, he added. /Periscope
