In this election, 36 parties compete, which have registered a total of 97 mayoral candidates, as well as 544 candidate lists for municipal council members.
In all of the country, 90 local election administration commissions and 5,417 polling stations have been established. But the specificity of these elections is that the main opposition does not participate in this process.
There are 14 opposition parties, among the main DP and LSI, which have decided to boycott local elections.
As a result in 31 municipalities in the country, there is no competition, as the candidate has singled out the Socialist Party.
Citizens of major municipalities such as Shkodra, Elbasan, Fieri, Gjirokastra will have only the Socialist Party's candidate on the ballot page.
In several major municipalities such as Tirana, Korca, Durres, Vlora in front of the SP have been placed candidates of the newest Astrit Patozi party, Democratic Obedience.
This is the first time the winner has no significance and the only question is the success of the process. The ballot boxes will be closed by 7:00.
