Third daily stay centre for elderly people in Pristina opens

In case of the centre's inauguration, Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti said they would continue to open such centres for the elderly.

This is the third center of the day stay for the elderly to come to spend time here in a pleasant environment with coffee, tea, chess. As we opened one in Tophane, one at Rugova's restaurant, this is third, and we continue to open the fourth maybe even next year. Ahmeti said these centres are much needed as they offer a comfortable space where the elderly can spend their leisure time.

In addition to these centers, he has warned that he will see the opportunity to create youth centers.

From our visits to Tophane, the Rugova restaurant shows that there is a great need, there are two static kitchens where we can serve free hot food for all those in need at night. They will also see in the future that we can expand into other parts. We are now seeing that there is a need for youth centers, such as where youth can spend time, whether exercising different voices or engaging in music or debate. So there is a need for such spaces”, Ahmeti said.

The opening of this centre is mostly enjoyed by pensioners. Basri Biqk says that this center is very good for them because they have a place to spend their leisure time.

They're doing some good jobs and that's very good for us, and especially for us pensioners it's... it's good to go out with time, chess yes, tea without looking at”, he said.
