During interview for Anjuta RTK, retired American General Wesley Clark, has talked about whether there is danger from any new Balkan war.
I think that the Balkans are currently assisted by KFOR's presence in Kosovo. I think this is an ongoing important commitment that NATO has. But, currently, Russians have built a base in Nis, Serbia. They say it's for humanitarian activities, but it has the command and control necessary to do whatever else can be done. President Putin was late in Serbia, where you know, he was known to be a hero! Serbia buys Russian military technology! But, even though it is surrounded by NATO, there is no potential danger for Serbia at the moment by NATO. I mean, we hope Serbia will become part of contemporary Europe, the European Union and perhaps someday become part of NATO together with Kosovo. So the question is, what's all this about, and all this has to do with Mr. Putin, who has a chance. It's like a waiting crisis. It's a moment, and whenever he needs a crisis, he starts the crisis. Perhaps here, perhaps in Ukraine, perhaps in Baltic countries”, Clark was expressed during the interview conducted for RTK by journalist Evliana Behrani.
