Political Affairs Recognition Says “Failure The Paris summit” has extinguished the likelihood that any eventual agreement between Kosovo and Serbia will be reached within this year.
Visar Jamaica from the Pristina Institute for Political Studies says that to reach an agreement with Serbia, US involvement in dialogue must be inevitable.
I think one thing is safe. Without US involvement in dialogue there is no agreement because the EU does not have the capacity and unity to create such unity. As in any country in the world Palestine-Israel, Iran or Kosovo, US inclusion gives it “vulla” the last one for the deal to be vital and stable at times”, says about RTV Duggini Visar Jamaica.
European integration recogniser Demush Shasha says the US should not take the official role in guiding the dialogue, as according to him, normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is a European problem.
“Taking into account two elements: Good neighbourship is an official criterion of the European Union, and Kosovo and Serbia aim for strategic goals for the European Union. Therefore, neither Kosovo nor Serbia is appropriate for anyone else to have a key role other than the European Union”, Demush Shasha said, sends out Telegrafi.
At the end of last year, US President Donald Trump had sent a letter to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, where, among other things, he had called for unity in dialogue with Serbia and that both countries should use the moment for reaching an agreement, since on the contrary, Trump would be a tragic setback.
