Today's meeting of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, where it is expected to discuss the fee for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina's goods and correction of borders, has raised great attention.
Haradinaj's stand at this meeting is expected to take exactly that position he never held back, even despite international pressure to suspend the tax.
The issue differs from political analysts in Kosovo, who express their opinions about whether the prime minister should stand behind his stand for failing to verify the tax, or give up on it.
Today's meeting has received considerable attention, especially to the fact that Germany is the only state that has sided with Prime Minister Haradinaj.
Thus, political analyst Imer Mushkolaj says it is important for Kosovo to get strong guarantees from Germany that there will be no correction of borders.
He believes that in this way German state support for visa liberalisation will be reconfirmed once again.
“I believe the tax should stay and this position must protect Prime Minister Haradinaj, because the tax has nothing to do with dialogue and is not conditional on dialogue. And instead of the pressure to be directed against Kosovo, it should be directed against Serbia, because Serbia knows that the European Union is mediating unconditional talks. So in this case, the talks are not conditioning Kosovo, but Serbia”, Mushkolaj says
Defending his position on the fee against Serbian goods, Mushkolaj says Haradinaj should focus on presenting the current situation in the country, so that it can become clear once and for all that Kosovo is not what it should be put on by internationals.
Mr. Haradinaj, from powerful states, seems to have only Germany's ally, in the sense of protecting territorial integrity, against border correction, or other issues, respectively. So that this meeting with Chancellor Merkel, he should make the best use of Chancellor Merkel to present the situation as it really is in Kosovo, and his position as both prime minister and President Thaci, because as Thaci did not in all meetings, he held the same positions”, he added.
While political development connoisseur and analyst Ramush Tahiri has said the results from this meeting will be expected and that Kosovo will seek immediate visa liberalisation because it has fulfilled the criteria.
The results will however be expected in terms of European integration. Kosovo will seek acceleration of the integration process because it has met technical conditions and will require immediate visa liberalisation, and that is right, what else it wants Kosovo leaves Europe, but Europe also leaves the Western Balkans because Kosovo is one of the key states in Ballakn and without the admission of the state of Kosovo, the reality of Kosovo, cannot go to the Balkans before”, Tahiri told Periskopi.
He has highly appreciated this meeting, saying this meeting will be on the level of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Good “The government, which is responsible for Kosovo's practical policies, is specifically for Euro-Atlantic integration but also for the reinforcement of Kosovo, such as economic, cultural development”, he said.
Among other things, he said that during this meeting, he is expected to discuss the Paris meeting, which will be held next month.
“also very importantly, it will be talked about the upcoming meeting in Paris, about how it is equal in Serbia, and mutually speaking at that meeting”, Tahiri said./Periscopi/
