The Speaker of the Parliament, Kadri Veselin, said days ago he would initiate the parliamentary investigative Commission, which will clear KLA veterans' lists.
But for this initiative, Wessel cannot count on his ruling partner, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.
AAK deputy head Ahmet Isufi, who is at the same time chief of the party's deputies, in an interview for the Economy Online, is considering this Vessel initiative as “political game”, as there has been a political agreement on the veterans' case.
It estimates that currently “the Veteranis Rasti” is in the hands of justice and that politics should not interfere.
“We consider this initiative more political game because with the fact that at first it was made a mistake with a political agreement, it has taken days to have problems with this process. Because they have politically oriented the process, making compromises at the expense of the values of war. And that's already to create a commission to intervene in the Court, because the subject is in the DA, in the court, is under way. This is also intervention in this direction, so we don't see any results, it's more about doing political action than it does any good. Because if it's the court now dealing with this subject, then you have to leave it”.
Isufi has also commented on Wessel's decision on the dismissal of PDK officials, who have charges of corruption.
Even this initiative is assessing it as not shot. He says the AAK is not obliged to dismiss ministers who have charges, unless there is an act of fair form.
The fact that party-side action has been made remains that way itself. If it was to be made as the coalition's common decision, then institutional leaders had to sit down and make the decision in principle. But since it has been done politically partyly then each party has its own positions and its decisions on its members of the government. We don't have any decisions now because we haven't met so we can have a stand on it. However, I consider that the issue of accusations and confrontation with the law is a matter of justice, it is not a matter of public opinion”.
But, Wessel can count on the AAK as regards the establishment of the Tribunal for condemning Serbian crimes in Kosovo.
Isufi says that in this direction Kosovo has lost much time, as it warns the dynamisation of the process for its establishment.
“We think the resolution is in order, and we are even delayed because it had to become a process early in which the Serb genocide in Kosovo could be condemned and so should the charges be filed against all those who committed war crimes in Kosovo. This has not happened so far, we consider that now is the phase that should be dimensionalised and accelerated the process so that all can be brought to justice by those who have committed crimes against the population of Kosovo”.
The AAK's chief of deputies has also commented on the opposition's motion to oust the Haradinaj government.
He says no political parties, including the opposition, are interested in elections.
However, it says the AAK is ready when they will be held, as it estimates that the party they belong to is on the rise, thanks to its boss's “major decisions.
“The opposition parties are not ready to enter the election first. Ruling parties want to continue power, and in terms of us as the Kurdish AAK announcing elections, we are ready. I think we're in the upper hand now with the fact that we've got big issues behind us that are just set by the Haradinaj government, which shows they've influenced the AAK's growth. The processes that await us both dialogue and other topics that strengthen the state of Kosovo need this government to continue. Haradinaj needs to be prime minister because of tax, military and international reports”, he says.
In the end, Isufi has also commented on President Thaci's idea of national unity.
He says this idea belongs not only to him, but to every Albanian and every generation.
The National Union is not a personal idea, nor is it an individual of anyone. It's the idea of generations of all Albanians who have wanted to live in a country that has been unjustly divided into past periods and this idea goes on and it's not some newosy”.
