Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has allocated 30,000 euros in order for at least four branches of the Lepenc River to be regulated and prevent floods.
In this direction the Elez Khan Community has spent thousands of euros in the past, but still the needs are great for the thorough rehabilitation of the Lepenc River. Also, in the past year, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has spent 50 thousand euros on the “River Cleaning Lepenc from the remains of Azbest”.
Bashkim Sopa, spokesperson for Elez's Khan Community, has said that with 30 thousand euros allocated from the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning will regulate the flow of water in four streams connected to the Lepenc River, with the aim of preventing floods. According to him, in past years this municipality has faced floods, so the situation is gradually improving.
