The Vetevendosje movement through a statement published on Facebook speaks of the video mention of Kadri Wessel's name.
All of Kosovo knows that if it proves Wessel is part of the criminal case, it doesn't go to resignation but directly to prison. Resignment is a moral act to pave the way for investigations. So, when the name is cited as a threat to the file, there should be a resignation to the investigation, not investigations before the resignation”, said the report.
Here's the whole reaction:
In the media video, Kadri Wessel's name calls for illegal money, as tribute or as a file, from members of criminal organisations. And the speaker of the Parliament's reaction was, to say at least, coward: He said that if proven to be part of this criminal case, he would resign.
The whole Kosovo knows that if it proves that Wessel is part of the criminal case, it doesn't go to resignation but directly to prison. Resignment is a moral act to pave the way for investigations. So when the name is cited as a threat to the file, it should be a resignation to the investigation, not an investigation before the resignation.
Kadri Wessel himself played naive and asked why justice had this video for six years and didn't investigate. And then, he asked for veto in justice. So instead of talking about his responsibility in the scandal that is damaging the image of the state and the Republic of Kosovo where he is the chiefparliamentary, Wessel throws responsibility elsewhere, to the justice system.
Why haven't any prosecutors investigated this video before? Because prosecutors and justice system tour Kadri Wessel. Because this and his men, as is known by the case “proton”, have put a man who obeys at the head of the prosecution. Thus, quite hypocritically, where Wessel and his servants who are being exposed to crime in the public call for self - righteousness.
A few days ago, we had Austria's example, where, after publishing a video, the person involved immediately resigned and new elections were announced. This is the moment for Kosovo to show that it wants to follow the Western model, not the Russian one. Kadri Wessel must leave any position of power to pave the way for investigations as soon as possible without resisting. Any insistence on his continuing to remain in power is an obstacle to justice and democracy, and the protection of crime done.
