Trump warns tax on Mexican goods

Through a Twitter post, Trump said that a 5% tax will be imposed from June 10th and will be established slowly “to solve the problem of illegal immigration”.

President Trump has declared national emergency to deal with what he claims to be a crisis on the southern US border.

Jesus Sead, Mexico's top diplomat for North America, said the tax would be a disaster.

“If this is set, we need to react strongly”, he told reporters.

During his election campaign and throughout his time in office, President Trump has sought funds to build a wall on the US-American border.
