Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has hosted the vice president of Atlantic Council, Damon Wilson, together with a delegation from the Senate and the American Congress.
President Thaci has thanked Vice President Wilson for the continuing contribution of Atlantic Council to Kosovo for strengthening security facilities.
On the 20th anniversary of Kosovo's liberation, the people and the state of Kosovo are eternally grateful for the US defining role in Kosovo's freedom and independence”, he has said.
The head of state and the US delegation have also talked about the process of transitioning the Kosovo Security Force and Kosovo membership, first in the Partnership for Peace, later in NATO.
Kosovo dialogue has also been discussed at this meeting for Serbia and the necessity of exploiting the moment for reaching a comprehensive and legally binding agreement.
The loss of an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia could have consequences for security and stability in the region and pave the way for anti-European elements”, President Thaci has said.
On the other hand, Vice President Damon Wilson has reconfirmed Atlantic Council commitment to Kosovo.
Thaci has said that along with the US, maximum commitment will continue to preserve and develop peace and security in Kosovo and the region.
