Unless Tbilisi employment in KEK occurs, citizens will continue with protests

The Obilic Municipal Assembly has discussed today in an extraordinary session for not implementing the Obilic Law and failing to implement the Government's decision to prioritise the employment of residents of this part in the Kosovo Energy Corporation.

The position and opposition agreed to file a lawsuit for KEK through which a recent competition decision in the company is required, while protests were warned unless the Obilic Law is implemented in terms of the ECK's priorities.

Obilic Chairman Dzafer Gashi said the Kosovo Energy Corporation is not implementing the Law on Obilics, which has entered into force this year, nor is the Government's decision to prioritise employment in this obilics corporation.

He has requested from the Kosovo government that urgently take action against the KEK management for failing to comply with the Obilic Law and its decisions.

The first of Obilics said that if citizens of his municipality come out to protest, he will join.

Tomorrow we will address the courts responsible for suspending the announced decision of the KEK's recent competition with the intention of reviewing all those applying, and we will be based on these decisions and the Obilic Law on the indictment we will make as the third party... In this session, Armend Rushiti from the Movement for the Union said that for the KEK employment of the residents of Obilics, they are facing a lot of disappointment, and all of this is in his opinion due to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's unremitting promises and Chairman Xhafer Gashi's reaction has considered it delayed.

The head of the Democratic League of Kosovo's ambistics group, Shaip Paloja, said that major degradations are becoming in Obilic that are then taking over citizens.

At this extraordinary session present, the assistants of the Democratic Party of Kosovo were absent, while residents of Hades, Shiptilella, and other surrounding villages were present.

On behalf of residents of the village of Hade spoke Labinot Mirena, who warned protests if promises of employment are not met.

“This is where the Law on Obilics has been violated, two decisions of Prime Minister Haradinaj have been violated for the employment of Hades and Shippitula, the mayor may be the last meeting Hades and Shipipulla residents take part here, the next time we are in protest, and we do not leave the way until our government promises are fulfilled, because this is no longer the case of”, Mirena said.

On behalf of residents of the village of Shipilul , Shaban Krasniqi presented concerns about the KEK competition and discrimination becoming to the obilics.

“Never have we been able to find the choice with KEK about shifting in the best way we should, as Hades and Shirley residents, have had our minimum requirements just not to stop producing electricity. Our demands have been decidatory, employment and the Shala neighborhood model how the shift was made there, so with KEK we could never deal with it, they always said we as KEK couldn't afford to be able to employ”, he said.

Otherwise, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, with his arrival in this position, had promised the residents of Shippitula and Hades rapid expropriation, as well as employment and a family member.
