Shala warns more measures helping Kosovo producers, 12 companies want to invest

Minister Andrew Shala in an interview for Online Economy has warned that the ministry he heads will propose to the Government other necessary measures helping the country's economy and producers.

My “Fokus is the support of local production, but this does not mean support in relation to other businesses and with trade in Kosovo in general. We've taken some measures so far, like that 100 percent in relation to Serbia's products, then measures to stop the export of wood”.

“We are doing analysis of other market sectors in Kosovo and depending on this market monitoring and the demands of our local producers and based on the laws in power, but also by respecting the international agreements that the Government of Kosovo has as the agreements of the SAA and CEFTA, the Ministry of Trade and Industry will propose to the Government all necessary steps”.

Shala says 12 companies are interested in investing in Kosovo in various areas, following changes made to administrative instruction.

“At the moment that I have seen past administrative instruction have had several red tape and prevented potential strategic investors from applying under the Strategic Investment Law as strategic investors in the Republic of Kosovo, I've got some changes in that administrative direction and following the entry into force of new administrative guidance, we have so far more than 12 interested in investments in different fields and sectors in the Republic of Kosovo, so far an investor that is in renewable energy, energy with era of 1118x1>.

Shala has also expanded in new demands for strategic investments, he says this is an opportunity to build economic areas on Kosovo territory.

“I expect that very soon this year will start investing “Sowai Kosova LC” in Kosovo, which is the first direct foreign investment that has occurred in Kosovo so far, we have other investors in renewable energy as well as in the tourism sector, we are promoting every day in many countries and cities of Europe, through the Ministry of Commerce, opportunities for investments in Kosovo, there are interested investors, a majority of them is in the renewable energy sector, I expect here better co-operation with the energy regulator office, with the goal of these potential investors offering them all the ease of asking investors for them to suck into Kosovo's country.

He has indicated that he has made several European company requests to invest in Kosovo, clarifying that the MTI is creating all necessary infrastructure in order to provide companies with space for building their facilities and other facilities.

“I have made several demands for large European companies and for the possibilities that we like Kosovo potentially offer them, if they are going to invest and open their filters on Kosovo's territory, in this respect we are working on building some economic areas across Kosovo's entire territory, areas that MTI is creating all the necessary infrastructure, in order to offer companies space for the construction of their facilities, manufacturing factories, other facilities, and then helping with the economic development of our country, the growth of our employment, and other<>

MTI has also banned the sale of products that do not refer to Kosovo as a state, this decision under Shala has found overall implementation and that no goods will be allowed to enter Kosovo's territory unless they refer to the country by the constitutional name.
