Mr. Mayor,
My letters are coming to an end. The last to attempt dialogue is this week, which ends with the official opening of the June 30th campaign.
There is something that remains important on my part without writing on these letters, and what remains perhaps is the obligation to sum up some of the major things that have been said and written.
- Two years ago you did exactly the same thing for the same reasons: Panic by choice and fear of justice. By then you were gone from Kuwait and gathered in the tent of the New Republic to defend old justice by refusing to vote on Veting. I know how things went, I'm extending.
- This year you have returned the same avaz, but from a new level of irresponsability, with burnt mandates, boycotts of elections and threats to force the people to elect on June 30th. Again, fear of election and panic of justice, you have blinded and deaf and pushed into the path of an imaginary war of liberation from tyranny! Which you have to do with yourself, in fact, to overthrow the tyranny of fear inside Jush, because Albania is not in the hands of any tyranny, but in the hands of a democratically elected majority, to govern until 2021.
- As you can see, your support in an unscathed adventure is falling, and no matter how much you attract and spread out the bodies of the pursuers as chewing gum on the boulevard, to create photographic effects and television massiveity, you do nothing but lie to yourself and those who want to lie to the idea, that several thousand blue municipal employees and the modest mass of their attached militants are the people of Albania in protest against the government! This lie can keep you alive for a while, you and your political group leader. But believe me that the open-eyed wake of the government's departure without election or failure to choose will be very painful for that grouping and for you as its leader, if you follow deafly on the road where you are blindly marching.
- I'm still inviting you to start unconditional dialogue without burning any timeline and start writing together, a new page of political co-operation, not wasting more time, energy, solutions, with this useless avaz for the country, for people and the opposition if so!
- Be assured, Mr. Lulzim that the elections will be held on June 30th. This majority government will continue to exercise its responsibility for at least two more years when its legitimate mandate ends. Veting and Justice Reform will follow without a shake, no bans and no reviews, as long as time does not bring the need for possible intervention in the legal Corps of justice and only with the consensus of our international partners.
Memo Albania must open membership negotiations certainly this year, and unfortunately, you are doing your best to prevent them. But be also sure that the Albanian people, including any reasonable Democrat, who has never voted and may never vote for the Socialist Party, will not forgive such an injustice.
Albanians are much wiser than unfortunately, many wrongly, politicians and different parties have reminded them of the history of democratic developments. Don't underestimate the power of judgment and the power of their punishment, because what you've seen and tried in the past, you'll look like flowers compared to the lesson you'll get when you ask for your vote one day, if you don't go back today before tomorrow is too late.
In health,
Edi Rama
