Pre-war demonstrations injured demand that status be recognised by law

The Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for Undiscovered Persons and Petitions has discussed the status of injured persons in Kosovo before the war period. In this case, associations in this category were asked that in the swiftest term all injured persons engaged in demonstrations [...]
In this case, associations in this category were asked that, in an earlier term, all injured persons engaged in the pre-war demonstrations were recognized as their right by law.
To accomplish this, either the change of the family law was required or the new law on their status.
Ombudsperson Hilmi Jashari said the category of pre-war wounded is not covered by law, and according to him if there is political will for the involvement of this category must become a law change.
From the pre-war wounded association, Naim Gitia demanded their rights through the law.
We seek from Kosovo institutions to recognize the right of the wounded in demonstrations. Therefore, we think that this category should be recognised by law as the wounded of war”, he said.
The injured pre-war Naser Bajrami also demanded that this category be recognised by law to be allowed better treatment.
AAK MP Teuta Haxhiu said this initiative is delayed, and for that she expressed her support.
We can't step on anything, we have to follow the fastest way to legal possibilities, but we'll see if there's any shortcut”, Haxhi said.
Support for this category expressed additional MPs to the parliamentary commission.
