Obilic residents are complaining that they, in addition to taking the risk of the smoke that is being released from the thermal power plants, are being forced to pay electricity like all other citizens, even though the Obilic law gives them the right to pay less for the energy spent.

According to him, if they had lower bills, it would be easier to afford monthly expenses.
Frustrated with the situation in which the residents of Obilics are living, Ramem Kelmendi says that so far promises given to lower electricity bills are not being implemented.
He complains that with 75 euros in retirement he is being forced to pay up to 100 euros per current.
Obilic Mayor Xhafer Gashi says that for the subsidies of electricity for the obilics this year, a sum of 300 thousand euros have been allocated.
Gashi claims that as a municipal assembly, a regulation that will deal with the statistics on household expenses is also being compiled.
According to him, after completing public hearing regarding this regulation and its voting in the municipal assembly, citizens from July this year could pay less for electricity.
According to the opposition municipal Assembly of this municipality, current governance is not working enough in implementing the Obilic law.
Vetevendosje Movement ambist Aziz Bic has accused the leadership of this municipality of not working enough for citizens to enjoy the rights granted to Obilic's law.
According to him, the obilics will continue to pay electricity like all other Kosovo citizens, as there is delays in procedures.
We remember Article 8 of the Law for Obilics predicts that the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Government of Kosovo, will create the necessary conditions to determine a lower price quota for electricity.
