Austria to hold elections in early September

Austria's President Alexander van der Bellen said that after his meeting with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.

These extraordinary elections are held as a result of the recent scandal of vice-cancellart, Heinz-Christian Strache, where it is involved in a secret recording by offering government contracts to a Russian beneficiary in exchange for political donations.

This decision came hours after Strache's resignation from office, which pleaded guilty to his actions, saying his behaviour was <x0 irresponsible” and was coming out of the government to avoid further damage to the government.
