SINKON says on May 27th, I will hold a warning strike for an hour, specifically from eight o'clock to 09:00. And on May 28th, the strike will last between 8:00 and 4: 00 p.m.
According to this association, the adoption of the salary law had caused major dissatisfaction with air traffic controllers and resulted in the strike held in February.
The association has clarified that during this time as a result of mutual understanding between the Union Association of Air Traffic Controls and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on February 22nd, a memorandum of understanding was signed in order to regulate the economic-financial status of air traffic controllers through the ASHNA Law administration or through the implementation of the Co-ordination Sector Agreement <ex0>.
“At the time of drafting the MoU, the positive will to address the frustrations of Air Traffic Controlrs over the Law of Salaries during meetings with Minister Paul Lekaj was hopeful that things were finally going in the right direction. Today, on 20,04,2019, there have been 86 days since the signing date of the MOU between MlT and SINKON. Despite SINKON's insistence on meeting with MlT, as well as requirements for implementation of the agreement in the set term, SINKON has received no concrete or official responses from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. To give space to the heads of institutions, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, respectively, SINKON unanimously's membership decided to announce a one-hour warning strike of 27.05.2019 (from 8: 00 p.m. to 09:00). As of 28,05.2019, the strike will last between 8:00 and 1600. Since the Greek Law at Article 17 recognises air traffic control as vital, during the duration of the strike, auditors will provide minimum work process by offering air traffic services to military, state and ambulance flights to Kosovo”, the communiqué says.
SINKON has called on Kosovo institutions to reflect and invite them back to developing social dialogue, or union measures will escalate in response to the uncertainty at work that is being created for reasons not to implement the agreement of understanding.
