Thaci: The Euro-Atlantic battalion” echoed the KLA war

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, today has hosted members of the battalion “Atlantic”.

President Thaci has said it is a special pleasure as a co-ordinator, but also as president of the country, to have a very friendly and brotherly conversation with members of the battalion <x0-Atlantic”, to avoid memories from the past, but also to discuss and look to the future.

The fate of our country is also directly linked to the extraordinary and historical role and contribution the Albanian-American community has made to the United States and generally our diaspora. You have been the host, I can say freely of that body, of that massiveness, of joining the Kosovo Liberation Army, which was the only way to come to freedom and independence, as well as the only way to distance Serbia from Kosovo”, said President Thaci.

Former battalion commander “Atlanticu”, Gani Shehu, stressed that the Atlantic's journey was part of an Albanian-American engagement over decades in the Albanian community in the United States.

The battalion's direct involvement in war, organised by the RERHAWRK and other national affairs activists in the United States, prompted both its echo and the significant support it gave to our liberation fight”, Shehu said.

Members of the Euro-Atlantic battalion “”, the head of state has told them that they have always invested in unity and the approach of citizens without party differences and ideology, aiming to strengthen the national movement and war against Serbia, but also to strengthen the state of Kosovo, democracy, order, law and Euro-Atlantic perspective.

President Thaci stressed that the arrival of members of the Euro-Atlantic battalion “on the 20th anniversary of Kosovo's entry, the 20th anniversary of the Battle of Patrick and other heroic battles is indeed a new energy for all carriers of institutions in the Republic of Kosovo.
