Tahiri to EU ambassadors: We couldn't deny our citizens in Syria

He has informed ambassadors of the measures taken by the Kosovo government, which have been unable to participate Kosovars in terrorist organisations, speaking from the prospect of legal measures as well as social mobilization.
According to Minister Tahiri, changes made to criminal legislation sanctioned any participation in foreign conflicts motivated by radical doctrines as well as the spread, support and financing of terrorism.
“The trends of participation in foreign conflicts, our institutions and society have given a powerful response, making it a deep division from any motivation, support or synergy for the event in Syria and Iraq. As a result of this undertaking, by 2016, no single citizen of the Republic of Kosovo has been attached to developing conflicts or terrorist groups. No citizen has travelled to conflict areas” has said minister Tahiri.
Minister Tahiri has announced the EU ambassadors' role in the direction of the Task Force for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo from war zones in Syria.
“As justice minister, I had the responsibility to address even the view that the Republic of Kosovo and our Constitution cannot deny the right to the existence and citizenship of our citizens who were in Syria, apart from those victims of fraud, and children. Instead of denying their existence, we chose to take full ownership over them, through a clear decision: criminals before justice and victims in rehabilitation and resocialisation” the minister Tahiri said
Tahiri has also spoken of the role of the Republic of Kosovo under the Global Alliance Against I SIS, as one of the countries leading in preventing and fighting violent extremism and terrorism.
The Republic of Kosovo has full determination to prevent and fight violent extremism and terrorism to remain one of the important agendas our society and our institutions are engaged in. We will not allow any circumstances for our citizens to present threats to our constitutional order and to other democratic countries. The repatriation of our citizens from conflict zones in Syria, and the secession from their exploitation by terrorist organisations and radical groups is a powerful blow that the Republic of Kosovo has dealt with terrorism”, said the minister Tahiri.
