The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, through a statement to the media, has expressed deep indignation about, according to them, the deignive, propagandative, offensive and threatening language of the political subject Vetevendosje.
Yesterday and today, this party has warned Friday of a protest against the chief state prosecutor named “Lepur flees, we want Republic” and accuse Lumez of failing to do his job and receive 7 salaries.
According to the KKP, VV dictionary has taken on biased proportions and aims at violating integrity, independence and damaging the image of the prosecutorial system.
The Council calls on all factors public, in particular, political subjects to avoid spreading such a language, which constitutes direct intervention and pressure, and is contrary to the laws in power and Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo”, the statement said.
The KKP emphasises that misuse of free speech is and remains sharply outside democratic law in the country, because management and institutional control of the State Prosecutor is the Council's infallibility right.
This case suggests that we are not influenced by political circles and interest groups, because the judicial power, under which we function, is special power and that the State Prosecutor is the unique, independent and impartial body”, the statement follows.
The statement states that the Prosecutorial Council is committed to all its mechanisms to work, protect and advance any value of integrity, dignity and public transparency, as well as to combat any tendency for pressure and intervention by any means.
Therefore, the KKP calls for the State Prosecutor, the State Prosecutor and his mission to be out of every agenda of daily policy, because the assessment of prosecutors' work is done solely by the Prosecutorial Council and its mechanisms, and does not depend on the will of individuals, subjects and certain groups.
