An official who wanted to remain anonymous because of the investigation, said alarms on fire were issued twice yesterday.
For the first time, some people, including a caretaker fireman, went to verify the roof and saw nothing. When the alarm went too late for the second time, as the fire was very strong”, the official said.
He said between 40 and 50 investigators are working in the dawn of the case, but were not allowed to enter the building for security reasons.
The construction of Notre Dame cathedral is well maintained after the fire, but there are unstable parts inside, the French government reports.
As officials have said, it is necessary to spend 48 hours to be safe to conclude that the situation is stable.
