The main goal of the Berlin summit, primarily the removal of blockades in dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Johannes Hahn said yesterday, alluding to the tax imposed on Serbian goods, which became the blockade of dialogue.
But, the Government Cabinet before this meeting seems to have begun slowly to release, since yesterday it approved a decision to free customs tax goods with codes 0101 to 0106.
This was argued with the fact that Kosovo needs animal import, as it is considered to be lacking.
At this meeting, the Government has also approved the proposal for release from the customs tax of the Pre-Religious Community with legislation in force for religious freedoms in Kosovo.
That requirement, as Finance Minister Bedri Hamza put it, was made by the Religious Community to be treated according to the practices of countries of the world and released from customs tax.
We have had requests from the Religious Community to be treated according to the practices of the world's countries to free them from customs tax, this release will only be limited to the necessary amount. Kosovo is appreciated and stressed by the Religious Community as well, and I seek to vote on this decision by the release of the customs tax”, Hamza said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is talking about the Berlin Summit, where German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron will be expected and the tax will not be lifted either.
