At least eight people have lost their lives as a result of a 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Richter that struck Luzon's largest island in the Philippines. At least eight people have lost their lives as a result of a 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Richter that struck Luzon's largest island in the Philippines.
Officials fear that dozens of people may still be trapped in the ruins of the business and commercial buildings destroyed.
The quake took place about 60 miles [60 km] from Manila, at a depth of about 40 miles [40 km].
Because of the earthquake, air traffic, railway and road has been cut off.
