The Central Election Commission has not certified candidates for mayors of northern municipalities for the May 19th elections from the Serbian List.
Nine members of the CEC attended today's meeting, of which 7 voted “pro” and 2 abstained. This was not enough for candidates to be certified on the Serbian List, as in this case it needed 8 votes “pro”.
Although CEC head Valdete Daka refused to allow debate, Vetevendosje representative Adnan Rrustemi voiced his opposition, demanding that the Serbian List be given 24 hours to change candidates or distance itself from statements of the same people who deny Kosovo citizenship.
Zoran Dodiq, for Zubin Potok Serdjan Gulovic, for Zvecan Vucinja Jankovic and for North Mitrovica Goran Rakiq, has applied to the municipality of Leposaviqi.
Otherwise, PDK and Vetevendosje Movement candidates have been certified. /
