Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj declared today that he would forward the government for decision-making of the Council of Ministers' decision, which is granted the right to diplomatic passport, management and board members, leaders of various entities and regulatory authorities to drivers of certain institutions.
Cakaj said that the situation in providing diplomatic passports is absurd.
“A series of decisions made in the past from the 1990s and then very long-stalled and without due attention, have already created a completely astic and absurd situation, causing Albania to have almost double diplomatic passports compared to the most powerful European countries, and this is not a comparison for styst purposes, this is a reality”, Cakaj said.
According to Cakaj, there are more than 350 people in Albania today who hold diplomatic passports in accordance with the law and who emerge and enter international borders as personalities with special status.
“Deputes beyond the recent legislatures, the high and constitutional court that has not passed Vettingu, to the companion of known personalities in Albania. Today they enjoy special diplomatic status”, he said.
Cakaj publicly invited all to make the delivery of diplomatic passports because it will be blocked immediately and declared invalid.
