The Waterloo Bridge and Oxford Street have again been blocked by activists, despite the fact that police removed a large ship from a busy shopping area to try to convert normality into the streets of the British capital.
The Metropolitan police announced that 715 people have so far been arrested in connection with the protests that began Monday. Moreover, 28 protesters have been charged with obstructing public order.
About 20 activists, most of whom were under the age of 17, staged a small protest even on roads near Heathrow Airport and were arrested by police.
“An unusual thing about this protest is the will of participants to be arrested by police and lack of resistance to arrest”, a police spokesman said.
Even the founder of school strikes against climate change, Swedish Grita Thurberg, has said she hopes she will join the protesters in London, writes “Independent”.
