World Bank responds: We didn't say 17 thousand jobs were lost.

Through a statement to the media, the World Bank office explains that the Economic Rule Report (RER) for Western Balkan economies, published shortly, does not conclude that 17 thousand jobs were lost in 2018, as reported in some media. “Based on the three-month survey of the Agency's workforce [...]
“Based in the three-month working force survey of the Kosovo Statistics Agency (published on March 19, 2019), RER reports a drop in unemployment rate of about 1 percentage point. This is the number of unemployed as a percentage of the total active workforce”, the WB explanation said.
At the same time, it says, there has been a decline in the number of people who have participated in the job market.
“Based on data from the same labour force survey, RER comments that the creation of net jobs in July-November 2018 had not yet fully compensated for the losses of net jobs in the first two quarters of the year. This has led to an estimated decline in the employment rate (which is the number of employed people as a percentage of the working age) of 1 percentage point in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter in 2017, a range of 7900 jobs, according to a survey of the workforce”, said in clarification.
