The terrorist attack on the city's mosque, Christchurch in New Zealand, has brought changes to laws.
After reforms in the weapons law that is under way, you now expected to change the law on crimes motivated by fantasy.
The government has also announced that it will establish a Royal Investigation Commission why the attack has not been identified and prevented.
At the heart of these changes is the trial of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack.
The terrorist who carried out the attack is being held in custody at New Zealand's highest prison, Auckland.
He has the right to judge by law. The trial will be held by Supreme Court Judge and a 12-man jury.
At the 2nd session, the killer was not personally presented but through an audio-visual connection from prison.
Two lawyers are protecting him. The court has ordered him to become a medical report to see if he was insane or had mental disorders. These reports are usually requested when there are serious accusations.
The only protection against a murder indictment is self-defense from an attack. Hence, the householder cannot defend himself in any way.
The fast trial is unlikely because the prosecution must compile evidence and reveal it to defence lawyers.
The next session is due to be held in June.
Judgment will be open to the public. The terrorist is expected to be sentenced to life imprisonment. /Indesksonline/
