The alternative, through a media conference, has raised its concerns about the state of the environment in Kosovo. Members of the Environmental Commission Bektas and Hannah Zeka said the subject representing support this year's global cause dedicated to earth Day.
The alternative considers that the state of the environment in Kosovo is very serious which, according to them, is the result of many environmental processes that have never been dealt with literally.
The “from non-responsive planning, uncontrolled development in the industrial sector, urban, non-adquate industrial technology, wild exploitation of natural resources, poor management of industrial and household deposits, continuing with air pollution, lack of sewage and sanitation, continuous contamination of pesticides, poor waste management problems, poor urban greenery, noise, lack of places for rest and resolution, are major indicators that affect the environment and urgent actions required to improve the current situation, Bex> said.
She said that the Kosova A and B thermal power plants, traffic, heating, pollution from illegal deposits and burning waste are just some of the factors that are affecting the environmental situation and that are then reflecting on citizens' health.
The “since 1999, especially in the last decade, Kosovo in general and the Pristina region in particular, faces environmental and particularly air pollution that is directly affecting the health of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. Even this government, like the others before it, never took the environment in Kosovo seriously. Concrete example is the total ignoring of the country's recommendations issued by the extraordinary session on February 1st 2018, when the serious air condition in Kosovo was found, Zeka said.
Alternatives through this conference for Earth Day have come up with some recommendations that require serious concern in order to start improving the environment in Kosovo.
