Wessel: Speaking of heroes in Skenderaj, it's very difficult

With the memorial academy in Skenderaj, martyrs Becir Meha, Mustaf Qorray, Ilir Lushtaku and Avdullah Kodra have been remembered on the 20th anniversary of the fall.

On this occasion, the mayor of Squiresh City Hall Bekim Jashari said that they are commemorating the work of the martyrs.

We are gathered at this academy to commemorate the work of the martyrs. They lined up in the verse of those who gave their lives for the liberation of our homeland. This is the most subtle sacrifice for us to live free yesterday equal to other peoples. Today we are commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of these martyrs. For our people to live free, this purpose that was once a dream to our people. Witnesses are our honor yesterday, because freedom was expensive, had to be paid with blood. The sacrifice of these martyrs calls us to send our country forward, to be more united. Honoring the martyrs honors the country”, he said.

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini said four martyrs are being commemorated today that fell to Kosovo having freedom.

He also had a message for the citizens of Scytheright and the leaders of the Communists.

I have come to talk to you about heroes. We remember the four martyrs who fell down for Kosovo to have freedom. We do this memorial to show how precious freedom was. We are in Drenica today, you citizens should feel proud, because your land is the center of many resistance that our people have made for freedom and for state. Today we remind these four heroes to show that Drenica, Skenderaj, has yet to give freedom and must give more, our vision for the future, our strategic vision, which is Kosovo independent and sovereign state, western Kosovo state, Kosovo developed economically. This is also one more reason why all citizens, and more specifically those who carry the leadership garment in Drenica yesterday, should be even more united and more powerful than those of these fallen heroes for freedom, for the fact that we are halfway, that we have to do more and we have to do more for the freedom of Kosovo, and for generations to leave our independent and sovereign state to us, said Wessel.

Hysni Gucati, of the Dala Associations from the KLA war, said the blood of martyrs should serve as a guide.

This is 20 years ago in Skenderaj I wage a war for the people's freedom. Today we are gathered here to commemorate the martyrs who fought until the fall. Their sacrifice, the blood of all martyrs, should serve as a guide to building citizenship. Their heroism is the message that obliges us to proceed further”, Gucati said.

The son of the witness Mustafe Qorray, Rescue Quarraj, said they must always be united to commemorate the martyrs.

On behalf of families, we thank you all and hope that we will always unite to commemorate heroes and be united for Kosovo”, he said.
