Israeli media, referring to an unidentified Israeli official, say an agreement has not been reached to prevent fire with Hamas and that Netanyah instructed the army to continue attacking the targets of the extremist Islamic organisation during the trip to Israel from the American capital.
“There is no ceasefire agreement”, the official said, adding that Israel is ready for even greater attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday he is ready to order further action in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, following Israeli air strikes in response to a missile fire from the Palestinian Territory.
Palestinian sources in Gaza earlier said today that the condition for Israel is a ban on fire and the completion of all activities along the border, including the release of balloons with flammable materials.
Israeli media announced today that protests planned for tonight near the border of Gaza and Israel were postponed for security reasons.
The AP reports that the situation in the country is tense and that University spokeswoman Son Zeit, Ljubljana Abdelhad, said armed commanders dressed in civilian clothes entered the campus and caught students believed to be Hamas activists asleep.
The students reportedly hid in campus trying to avoid arrest.
The AP agency says Netanyah is facing a difficult task, as Israel is closer to elections.
Schools in southern Israel have been closed due to violence only two weeks before elections in Israel.
A missile attack by the Gaza Strip was carried out yesterday and a house was shot in Mismeret, north of the town of Kfar Saba, and seven people were injured, including one child, two children and two women.
The Israeli Army has charged Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas and has started deploying troops to the Gaza border, as well as attacks on Hamas' goals throughout the Gaza Strip.
