Kosovo has not been recognised internationally by any state for more than a year, while Serbia is constantly working to ensure new recognitions.
Opposition and analysts estimate that in addition to poor Kosovo diplomacy, states are reluctant to recognise Kosovo due to statements of changing borders between Kosovo and Serbia.
The opening of the idea for reforming borders and development of negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia has led Kosovo for a year and two months not to recognise any state, while the last recognition has occurred on the eve of its Independence 10th anniversary, on February 15th 2018, by Barbados.
Thus, at least they estimate the country's opposition and the connoisseur of international issues, which also say that Kosovo diplomacy is weak and unorganized, so according to them the number of recognitions has dropped dramatically, writes the Voice newspaper.
Without including the recognitions the Serb side has warned and strongly opposed by the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs so far, Kosovo has been recognised internationally by 116 states.
In 2012 Kosovo had been recognised by 12 countries in 2017 two, while in 2018 only one recognition took place.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs say they are working to ensure new recognitions, but according to them this is a challenge for them because of the great scepticism of some states.
