End session: Set for suspension of veterans' pensions

The session has concluded on veterans' lists and the decision to suspend pensions is expected to be taken by the Court after the hearing, which will be distributed to the parties.

The court's decision on the interim move to suspend the pensions of 19 thousand veterans will be decided out of session.

The decision will be written and distributed to the parties.

And if the decision is to suspend pensions then the KLA Veterans' organisation has warned protests.

At this special prosecutor's hearing, Enver Krasniqi has submitted his request to suspend payment for 19 thousand veterans until the end of the trial process.

According to him, this should be done with the reason that “the result of the criminal act by defendants has been damaged Kosovo's budget and continues to be damaged. Therefore, considering Kosovo's budget as public interest, the state prosecutor has full legal authorisation to request such a”, Krasniqi has said.

Vulnerators from Kosovo's budget are third persons and such a situation when by the actions of the defendants as a result of criminal acts, and when profiting third persons the rule of injury is determined, which in the concrete case, we have damage to Kosovo's budget. So given this fact that third persons submitted on the annex 1 of this indictment as a result of the defendants' criminal offence from 2015 to August 2018 have benefited more than 88m euros”, Krasniqi added among other things.

While, the ten accused present at the hearing have been declared innocent. They have even said that the indictment is unfounded.
