Serbian minister urges Interpol chiefs not to accept Kosovo

Serbian Government Deputy Chairman and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has written letters to Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock and Interpol Chairman Kim Jong Yang, with whom he has asked that this international police organisation not reconsider Kosovo's application for membership.

According to Minister Stefanovic, from holding the Interpol General Assembly in Dubai in 2018, “no substantial changes have taken place to avoid the then decision to reject Kosovo”.

The Serbian minister thinks the opposite has happened and in favour of Serbia's stance on rejection, he cites the increased <x0-number of states, which have attracted recognition of Kosovo”, broadcast Serbian media.

He has reiterated Serbia's previous stance, under which only the states” are accepted in Interpol “.
