Seasonal flu falls below the epidemic threshold

A total of 54,949 suspicious cases in the flu (ILI), 6,296 cases of ARI (Ack Respiratory Revolution) and 107 cases were reported from October 29th to March 2019. The cases are reported by all municipalities in Kosovo. The largest number of cases are reported by the municipality of Pristina, Prizren and Podujevo.

At the laboratory of the National flu Centre - IK The KPS has tested a total of 1016 suspicious samples in Influenza to date, and 422 cases result in positive in A type Influence (positive 41.5 %). According to subtype 345 Influence A non- subtyped samples and 76 samples result positive in the AH1pdm09 subtype and 1 sample results in positive AH3.
Hospitalizations: At the Infectious Clinic, the Clinic of Pediatrics and regional hospitals from October 1, 2018 to today, 631 cases of Dg have been received. Bronx (ARI), 291 cases with Dg. ILI and 94 cases of Dg. SARI. Within the last 24 hours, two Dg cases have been hospitalised. Bronx (ARI) 2 cases of flusous status, 1 case with Dg. Infilrateio Pulmonum (SARI) and 2 cases with Dg. Influenza A confirmed.
Epidemiologists of the National Institute of Health of Kosovo continue to carefully convey epidemiological performance in the region, Europe and the world.
The SHSKUK committee claims that:
- The Influenza A, complicated with chronic illness computers, has reported 1 case of death with Influenza A.
- The epidemic of seasonal flu has seen a drop in intensity below the epidemic threshold, but there are still cases of clinical severity due to chronic co-morbidity, which the flu complicates the situation.
- General recommendations of the National Institute and Hospital Service and Universisar Clinic remain in force and apply to the entire territory of the Republic
Kosovo, reconsidering once again the necessary measures in all health institutions.
- Influenza activity has declined throughout the European region.
- Kosovo's National Health Institute is in custody and will continue to convey epidemiological situation according to O standards and protocols BSH, ECDC and CDC until 20th week.
- The epidemic of seasonal flu will be followed in two weeks with increased vigilance, and with the current fall trend, it is expected to announce the outbreak's extinction.
