Osman Ejupi resigns after employing four children in Telekom

Last June has resulted in a lucky month for Osman Ejupi's family. Within a few days, all his children managed to be employed in one of Kosovo's public enterprises, where their father is nothing short of one of the directors of the Telekom Board. But Ejupi, who week [...]

He in the letter of departure has said that in the quality of the board member there has been no competence or influence in employment, and secondly, employing nearby people is done according to Kosovo Telecom procedures.

Beyond this letter, I offer the irrevocable and immediate resignation from the position of member of the Kosovo Board of Directors of Telecom, the United States. It has been a high responsibility and privilege to exercise the functions of the Board member of Bor of Directors from April 2018, and once again I am reassured that my position as a member of the Board has been exercised responsibly, professionally and in any case for the best interest of Kosovo Telecom. As it is documented in all minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors and Decisions, including very sensitive cases inherited in Kosovo Telecom”, it is said among other things in the letter of resignation.

And June of last year has resulted in a lucky month for Osman Ejupi's family. Within a few days, all his children managed to be employed in one of Kosovo's public enterprises, where their father is nothing short of one of the directors of the Telekom Board.

Osman Ejupi was selected to be a member of the Telekom Board on March 29th of 2018, on a board that was named political. A few months later, his four children joined Telekom.

The first to be employed was Artina Ejupi-Tolaj, who received the contract on June 18th of 2018. A week later, Artina joined her siblings in Telekom.

On June 25th, the contracts were also obtained by Arjina Ejupi-Islami, Ardian and Arude Ejupi. All are employed as sales agents whose salary is about 800 euros.

Kohavision has also tried to contact Osman Ejupi to ask him about employment or whether he used his authority to hire children. “Please contact me in half an hour, because I'm driving”, he said.

Osman Ejupi's name figures in the Business Record Agency. A few days before being appointed as a member of the Board of Telecom, on March 14th of 2018, had opened a pre-school institution and the authorized person is his daughter, Arjina Ejupi-Islami.

Even Telekom's main shareholder, the Ministry of Economic Development, is aware of such employment.

Minister Valdrin Luka himself has said in KTV that the number of employees -- since June 2018 in Telekom -- has increased for 200 people.

In fact, according to him, his reasoning from Telekom is that these employment has been made in the name of taking over the sale of Vala services.

Osman Ejupi has long been a member of the Kosovo Competition Authority Board.
