The head of the Initiative's parliamentary group, Bilall the Sheriff, has expressed disappointment with claims that the Initiative will remain outside the Central Election Commission, according to him the president must act on what he has stated earlier, that each parliamentary group in the Kosovo Assembly will have a member.
At a media conference, the deputy sheriff addressed criticism to President Hashim Thaci, who he says has submitted requests for PAN, which according to him does not exist since there is no PAN in the country, but separate parliamentary groups of political parties and that the issue will be submitted to the Constitutional Court.
According to him, no one has the right to send members to the CEC on behalf of PAN.
On December 14th, I received a letter from the President's Office telling me to delegate a member to the CEC. The president has sent all parliamentary groups for the invitation, from that moment on, we have expected him to decree a member of the Initiative, or show it will decree or not. We believe that the president will act as the procedure has begun for each parliamentary group to have a member in the CEC. I don't know who the president has applied for members of the PAN, since PAN doesn't exist in the Kosovo Assembly. However, we will send this case to the Constitutional Court”, he said.
The sheriff stressed that if the CEC is deployed in this way, it will fight to get the election as soon as possible so that the life expectancy of this membership will be as short as possible.
