Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Kosovo and the United Nations Office for Project Services UNOPS for the census of Peoples, Banes and Family Economy in Kosovo, which is expected to begin in 2021.
In the case of signing the memorandum, Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj said this process is of capital importance, so it takes a commitment of all to perform with high professionalism and, according to international standards, to be creditable both national and international.
According to the memorandum signed, Kosovo's Statistics Agency as project host will implement the project in close co-operation with UNOPS, which will manage with the fund established for covering project activities spending.
“Fondi will be managed as a programme, either Multi Partner Fund, in which, along with the Government of Kosovo, other international potential partners and donors, such as: The EU office, Swiss Development Cooperation, Germany's Government, Swedish Government AIDS, Norway Government, Luxembourg, Denmark, as well as representatives of other governments and donors in Kosovo”, Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj said.
The project will be governed through the Project Board, or the Steering Committee, whose members will be all participants in the fund. The Kosovo government will finance 40% of the project and international partners and donors 60%.
