Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Co-chairman of the State Delegation for Talks with Serbia Fatmir Limaj has said that with the adoption of the Dialogue Platform with Serbia, Kosovo demonstrated “seriosis and readiness for dialogue on reaching an agreement that would close open issues between our two countries, enabling our countries to realise the strategic interests of integration”, Limaj said in an interview with Beta Agency.
He believes Serbia should recognise the reality of the problem and understand that the only acceptable solution is mutual recognition.
Limaj says it is in Serbia's interest to recognise Kosovo.
As far as the tax is concerned, he has said Serbia cannot have the Kosovo market available as long as it is from morning to evening trying to dismantle our country.
The number two of the Government of Kosovo has also spoken of establishing a court that would investigate Serbia's crimes committed in Kosovo.
This court, according to him, is necessary as Serbia and Serbian President Vuciq deny massacres in Kosovo, as is the case of the Recak massacre.
“Platform is based on our constitutional documents on which our state is built. The platform stems from Kosovo's Constitution, from the declaration of Kosovo's Declaration of Independence, the Ahtisaari package, as well as the ruling of the Inter-Colateral Court of Law. And this was not surprising something that could surprise Serbia”, Limaj added.
Furthermore, Kosovo's deputy prime minister says the Kosovo State Delegation is the only institution or mechanism that has the mandate of the Kosovo Assembly to discuss a possible dialogue with Serbia and no one else, and stresses that he expects “that all will respect the Kosovo Assembly decision. ”
Limaj has said he understands the difficulties Serbia has on the topic of recognising Kosovo, however, says it must decide whether to live in the past or the future.
According to Limaj, it is in Serbia's interest to recognise reality and recognise Kosovo independence to start building relations as two neighbouring countries.
He has said that the realisation of reciprocity in relation to the rights of Serbs in Kosovo with the rights of Albanians in the Presevo Valley “the centre of the accord” and how it is included and on the platform for dialogue.
“Reciprocity in the rights of Albanians in the Presevo Valley is another topic after recognising Kosovo in dialogue with Serbia, it is the focus of the” agreement, he said.
As for the tax, Limaj has said it is Kosovo's response to Serbia's behaviour and aggressive diplomatic campaign against Kosovo.
“Tarifa does not represent Kosovo's vision. We are for free trade, the market for European vision for free movement of goods and people, but reports between Kosovo and Serbia are not normal”, Limaj said.
Serbia must fight for the Kosovo market. It is impossible and unacceptable from morning to evening that you work to dismantle this country and at the same time ask for the country's market available.”, he added.
Limaj said that the platform envisions the establishment of a separate court to investigate Serbia's crimes committed in Kosovo.
We are now at a time where almost every day marks the anniversary of the massacres committed by Serbs in Kosovo. ” he said.
The tribunal, Limaj said, is necessary because representatives of Serbia “refuse to recognise the massacres that have been committed, as is President Aleksandar Vuciq, who months ago denied the Recak massacre.
