Lekaj convinced coalition partners won't betray Haradinaj

Infrastructure Minister Pal Lekaj, also deputy head of the AAK, has spoken about the ruling coalition, the tax imposed on goods coming from Serbia, and reports with the US. He has said Prime Minister Haradinaj does not intend to remove the tax on Serbia until he has denied any voice that the ruling coalition is unstable [...]
He has said Prime Minister Haradinaj has no intention of taxing Serbia until he has denied any voice that the ruling coalition is unstable as a cause of this tax and US pressure to remove it.
Lekaj says the tax has brought positive results by raising local products up to 25 per cent.
“As far as tax is concerned we have brought a common decision, the ruling coalition, the Government of Kosovo, has made a sovereign decision, we have not moved at all from that decision. I don't know why it moves me when it goes to the benefit of strengthening the state, economic development, and especially has greatly positively influenced Kosovo entrepreneurship. They've started establishing local products by 25 percent, so I think a good decision has been made for Kosovo, and Government has made a sovereign decision”, Lekaj said of Online Economy.
For the government coalition, Lekaj has said it is stable and will continue so. He has denied speculation that the ruling coalition has wavered because of the tax imposed on Serbian goods.
But, it has reiterated that reports with the US do not break down because, as he said, the state of Kosovo was built with them.
“What I can say is that there are enough rumors and various rumours that we will break up our reports with the United States of America, in no way, the Government of Kosovo, the country's prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, will not disrupt these reports that have been built for years and built the state of Kosovo with them.
Not at all do the reports with the US shake because they have taught us how good decisions are made for the country and have been good guides for Kosovo governance as well. The government does not waver for the tax, the coalition is fairly correct and stable and we continue”, Lekaj has said.
In this interview, Lekaj has also talked about the number of fatal accidents that have occurred in recent days in Kosovo. He said he feels worried about the number of these accidents. He has appealed drivers to keep increased care and respect signs in communications.
And we're concerned about fatal accidents and we've taken all the measures regarding the Ministry of Infrastructure and we're always doing the best we can, but unfortunately, even though the number of fatal accidents has been reduced, we're not happy, we're working every day to improve and pray to all drivers in communication to respect traffic signs and to keep the maximum care of”, Lekaj, for EO.
And as far as infrastructure and lighting are concerned, Lekaj has said they are leaders in the region.
“We've taken all the steps, we've made a co-operation agreement with the Kosovo Police who are doing a great job, but in the coming days that the signals we do at the highest level and lighting of roads, while in terms of infrastructure you know we are leaders in the region”, he said.
