Import prices rise

The overall import prices index in Kosovo rose 2.2, % in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the preceding quarter of the same year, where the most pronounced increase was in the skin and its articles by 14.0 %, live animals and products from them 8.5%, optical instruments, photography, measurements, medicine and music, and clock mechanisms with 6.6%.
According to the Import Awards Index for the fourth quarter 2018, published today by the ASS, the establishment was neutralised, mainly by falling prices according to textile sectors and its articles by 3.6%, nutrients 1.2%, shoes 0.4% and prepared food items, drinks and tobacco by 0.4%.
Meanwhile, compared to TM4 2018 to TM4 2017, import prices rose to an average of 3.9%.
Larger lifts according to sectors were mineral products (20.7%), leather and its articles (15.5%), plastic, rubber and their products (7.6%), optical instruments, photography, measurements, medicine and music, and clock mechanisms (6.9%), living animals and their products (5.6%), wood and its articles 4.0%, etc.
The hike was largely neutralised by falling prices according to sectors in shoes by 10.1%, plant products 8.6%, textile and its articles 7.2%, nutrients 3.2% and prepared food items, drinks and tobacco by 0.4%.
