Doctors from Italy perform cardiosurgic operations at KKUK

Italian doctors have so far operated 4 patients with cardiosurgic problems and are also being assisted by cardiosurgeon doctors from Kosovo, the SHSKUK reports.
During his visit to the Cardiodrogy Service, the director - general of the Hospital Service and University Clinic, Dr. Basri Sejdiu, said this co-operation with Italian doctors is taking place within the framework of professional staff establishment and is a great help to the institution, when international cardiosurgeons operate at the University Clinical Centre.
Director Sejdiu also praised the CKUK cardiosurgeons, who, according to him, are doing the job quite well, while this collaboration with foreign doctors also leads to more complicated operations.
Dr. Maurizio Levantino, from the team of Italian doctors, said that at the request of the Ministry of Health and the region of Tuscana have come to Kosovo. Dr. Levantino, indicated that so far they have conducted four open heart operations, in co-operation with the team of cardiosurgeon doctors from Kosovo. According to him, Kosovo has good doctors who have proven professionalism even during operations.
By the 17th of this month, another team of doctors from Italy is expected to come to Kosovo to operate with heart problems.
