Bernie Saunders is the most likely candidate to win the democratic party's nomination to stand against Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, writes Periscopi.
Sanders has been labeled a socialist, until recently an irritative label in American politics, the cause of reforming policies in redefining incomes that seek to implement.
What is particularly exciting about the democratic candidate, who in a week raised $10m for his campaign, is his stance on NATO bombings and Serbian communist leader Slobodan Milosevic.
The following is the video with his speech, translated with cuts from Periscope.
I have heard words from some people saying that our [US] intervention in Kosovo is unconstitutional. They're right. But unconstitutional was also the other military interventions we have made, such as that in Vietnam, Grenada, and so on. The time has come for the convention to address seriously the issues of war and peace. I'm really worried about the process that's going on today. ”
My statement about the situation in question is that Mr. Milosevic is a war criminal, and that mass deportation of citizens, ethnic cleansing, violations are unacceptable and cannot be ignored. The reason Milosevic has not respected the agreements, I have supported the NATO bombing [in the Serbian military ranks]. I believe that Serbian military police should leave Kosovo; that hundreds of thousands of people who were expelled from their homes should be allowed to return, Kosovo must give some kind of self-government and that the international peacekeeping forces should be deployed. I think our country should be as active as possible in finding a path to peace. ”
