In honour of the 20th anniversary of the Battle of Jeskova and the fall of 21 martyrs of the nation, the Memorial Academy has been held in Prizren, where it has been said that this battle will remain one of the greatest stages of nation history.
Since the academy is organised under the auspices of Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Kujtim Gashi, and homazhe have been held by the Prizren Community, dissatisfaction with this division has expressed veteran and participants in the battle, Baki Latifi.
Latifi has indicated it is a shame they are dividing martyrs while calling for politics to take their hands off politics.
You family never keep your head down because you've got what you give this place... I appeal to all political structures, as far from the hands of the martyrs, the martyrs are of the country don't play with the blood of the martyrs. If you want to vote, it's choice, do whatever you want, but on historical days and dates, especially this glorious battle where the best boys fell in today's honour. It's a shame, let shame remain upon them to divide the martyrs”, he said.
On the other hand, Culture Minister Kujtim Gashi said the Battle of Jeskova and the fall of the nation's martyrs 20 years later strengthen the feeling, the spirit of Albanian homeland for the national and historical role of the KLA war.
Gashi said that history will write that the KLA's release and liberation war and the Jeskova battle marked the biggest turn of nation history.
The Battle of Jeskova and the heroic fall of the nation's 21 martyrs was and will remain one of the greatest stages of our nation's glorious history, of the lyre, and this point of blood in the geography of our homeland maps. So even today, at this 20th anniversary of the permanent pride of the Battle of Jeskova, of the fall of 21 martyrs and martyrs, we proudly say that the sons and daughters and the 125th Brigades of the KLA, that is, the 21 martyrs who fell into that battle, were warriors of the light of freedom. Those whose work, the property, will be inspiration and pride, perpetuated the oath of the ancestors, make the ideal of every era of our national movement a reality, the liberation of our ethnic lands, the liberation of Kosovo”, the minister said.
Minister Gashi said that without the heroic fight even of the 125th Brigade Special Unit there would be no establishment of the KLA's military and diplomatic alliance with NATO and the US, Bondsteel would not be established and that there would be no declaration of Kosovo's independent state. Much less, Gashi said they could not be on the safe path towards north-Atlantic integration today and, above all, towards the membership of the Kosovo Army in NATO.
Meanwhile, veterans' association Secretary Isa Berisha said one of the most glorious KLA battles is being commemorated.
In this glorious battle many martyrs fell, and this was also a severe blow to KLA, because part of the 125th Brigade special unit falls to never die. Reminding this glorious battle and turning it into memory after 20 years is to thrill the body, because our glorious army did not possess any heavy weapons, as was equipped by the paramilitaries and the Serbian Army, but in us was the morality and sense of a devoted warrior and the goal was and were able to give their lives for freedom”, he said.
He said the soldiers' morality and goal was to be once and for all free from Serbia.
Addressing the families of the martyrs, Berisha told them to be proud that their sons fell never to die and that freedom might be enjoyed today.
Meanwhile, the village's mayor, Xhedin Krasniqi, has told a story about this village.
