Leka Gjokaj, according to American media, was arrested at Clinton Township on Friday after operating a dental service without licenses, which constituted criminal acts.
Police also posted videos of the Albanian basement, where all necessary equipment for the clinic was distinguished.
Despite a $5,000 guarantee, Gjokaj can be left on bail, authorities found that he had completed his visa deadline to stay in the US, which is why he remains behind bars.
Prosecutor Eric Smith said the Albanian could have applied for licenses rather than illegally exercise the profession.
He could say he was trying to help the community, but really he was trying to help himself by putting money in his pocket. If he was actually a dentist in Albania, he had the perfect opportunity to apply for licenses here”.
If convicted, Gjokaj risks up to four years in prison.
