Free movement continues to be an impassable challenge for Kosovo citizens even in 2019. Kosovo's path towards visa liberalisation has been difficult, so it has declared several days ago for the newspaper “Voice” Minister of Gift Intgration Hoxha. Despite Kosovo having fulfilled the criteria set by the European Union for visa liberalisation, no concrete step has yet been taken that would pave the way for this process, writes the newspaper “Zeri” today.
But despite the difficulties Kosovo citizens do not seek visas in embassies. Their requests to go abroad are great. According to statistics sent to the newspaper “Voice”, the German Embassy in Pristina within 2017 and 2018 has accepted about 100,000 visa requirements.
Officials of this embassy say the same number of requirements are expected in 2019 as in the two previous years. While about 200 apps per day per visa are being examined at the Swiss Embassy in Pristina. In these two states, Germany and Switzerland, the Kosovo diaspora is concentrated, so there are greater visa requirements.
