During the meeting, most members of this commission supported the privatisation of Telekom, in addition to VV deputy Glauk Konjufca.

The need for transparency in this process was stressed.

Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka arguing that Telekom's privatisation should happen, given all problems that have been accumulated over the years and that lost judicial processes are endangering Telekom's sustainability.

According to him, initially the company needs to be rebuilt and improved and the privatisation decision is in line with the laws in force, and the goal is for 51 per cent to be privatised, while 49 per cent is owned by the state.

This privatisation process will precede investment, transparency and have credibility for the entire privatisation process”, Luka said.

While deputy from the LDK ranks Lutfi Zharku said that as a party supports the privatisation of Telekom, but that they cannot vote on such a decision without having a detailed report on what form to privatise it.

VV deputy Glauk Konjufca had multiple charges against minister Luka. According to him, he is acting contrary to the Kosovo Assembly.

The “Assembly has adopted a resolution in July last year, stressing that Telekom should be rebuilt rather than privatised. You are a Z Mobile official and not a Kosovo minister, you are not interrupting the contract with Z Mobile, there is a 9m to 11m-euro robbery, he said.

The minister, Luka, in response to the VV deputy, said some points of the Parliament resolution have been addressed, while in terms of charges, he indicated he had no impact on his work as minister.

The “It is true that I have been working in Mobile Z, this has nothing to do with my work as minister, the contract expires in June, cannot now be cut off”, Minister Luka added.

MP The PDK, Memli Krasniqi, said the state of Telekom is worse since it was established and for that reason must be privatised.

According to him, the privatisation process should have taken place earlier and we would now have a much more successful Telekom.

“If there had been this civic political responsibility assembly, where the process would have been forgotten and we would have had a much more successful Telekom”, Krasniqi said.
